whatismynamaztime.com is built on a simple principle: your data stays on your device. We do not operate any backend servers, databases, or user accounts. No personal information is collected or stored by us.

Location Data

If you allow location access, your GPS coordinates are used in your browser to calculate accurate prayer times using the adhan.js library.

• GPS coordinates are processed locally in your browser for prayer time calculation
• If GPS is allowed, your coordinates may be sent to Nominatim (OpenStreetMap) to display your city name — this is a standard reverse geocoding lookup
• If GPS is denied, your approximate city may be estimated via your IP address through ipapi.co
• Your last manually selected city name and coordinates are saved in your browser's local storage so the app remembers your preference on return visits — this data never leaves your device
• We do not operate servers that store your location data
• Location access can be denied — you can search for your city manually

Browser Local Storage

We use your browser's local storage (not cookies) to save:

• Your last selected city name and coordinates (key: chs-city)
• Your daily prayer completion status (key: pt-YYYY-M-D, resets daily)

This data is stored entirely on your device and is never transmitted to any server. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's local storage or site data.

Data We Do Not Collect

• No user accounts or registration
• No personal information of any kind
• No prayer time history or usage tracking by us
• No email addresses
• No cookies set by us

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services which have their own privacy policies:

• Google AdSense: Serves advertisements. Google may use cookies to show relevant ads. You can opt out at Google's Ad Settings.
• ipapi.co: Used to estimate your city from your IP address when GPS is unavailable. Subject to their privacy policy at ipapi.co/privacy.
• Nominatim (OpenStreetMap): Used for two purposes: (1) to convert your GPS coordinates into a readable city name, and (2) to search for cities worldwide when you type a city not in our quick list. Subject to OpenStreetMap's privacy policy.
• adhan.js (Batoul Apps / jsDelivr): Open-source prayer time calculation library loaded from jsDelivr CDN. Runs entirely in your browser.

Cookies

We do not set any cookies ourselves. Google AdSense may set cookies for advertising purposes. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.

Children's Privacy

This site does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The site contains no interactive features requiring personal information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy occasionally. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
